Aquatic images are a processual works occuring under the leadership of the automatic painting. It is, therefore,  a partial-managed process, where liquid paint takes its path through the canvas. Each application is a new layer, a new image, which leaves a trace. Layered together, they create water landscapes, shapes and textures. »Painting with a water«,  is spontaneous, intuitively guided process.  The author must first master a technique of automatism, then have the power of a discipline.  To find a balance between mind and intuition is a process which creates sensational and evocative work. “Stain” or an element may be active or passive. A passive one will create a conceptual piece, but if the stain is active, the piece is processual. At the same time, the essence of a processual art lies precisely in the anthropological tie with the original. The creation of anti-form turns us back to soil, to basic materialism where any form disintegrates, results in a new form. This leads to the appearance of stains that are falling apart or together as all biological structures. They are reminding us of the chemical reactions of each item or creature in the universe. In references to this can be find in the works of Marx Ernst. He has discovered his fantasy landscapes, structures, or supernatural beings precisely through the processual paintings. (N.Gnamuš 2010, Visual models of modernism).

Water landscapes  are  presented in its diversed colours, shapes and textures. Their essence is to observe a macro-micro spheres; to see its particles or so to say ” to observe paintings details.” Through these images I aim to show water as spectrum; »A sphere of  shades and therefore, dimensions«. Finally, I would like  to bring the viewer closer to nature, its origin, and ultimately to himself.

Water paintings are processual work which apper by an automatic operation. It is, therefore, a partial-controlled process, of addition, elimination and substitution. Liquid paint and water are searching its combinations of micro patters just as soil and water do at the macro scale around the planet. Patterns of water shape the environment by the »laws« of chemical reactions.

“Glaciem aqua”, 10×10 cm, acrylics and washing pouder, 2019

Miniatures of  water or diluted color is paving its way around the canvas. Therefore, this paintings are water pathways, shapes and textures, created on the micro scale. Each application is a new layer, new image, which leaves a trail and a stain. Liquid pigment  creats water landscapes, shapes and textures. Imaginate autogenic process of painting is spontaneous, partially intuitively managed process of creating stains.

It is necessary to be disciplined, nevertheless, a disciplined author must master the technique of automatism, so that water can  spill and curve as it does on a macro scales in order to create its landscapes; a sensational and evocative art. At the same time an  essence of a processual art lies precisely in the anthropological ties with its origin. Creation of an anti-form connects us back to earth, basic elements of nature, where any form disintegrates and merges into a new form. This leads to the occurrence of stains, which decompose or combines as all biological processes. Reminding us of the chemical reactions of each element. Beside acrylics, there is a washing pouder which helps to represent elimination and substitution.

Micro-canvases of soil, water and ice are presented as maps or landscapes on a small, delicate space which evoke awarness of a fragility, uniqueness and  delicacy. While minatures mapped together on a large surface or wall,  they encounter  as a small mosaic of water and soil.

Mapping memories or new research about the river Krka /Galerija Simulaker NM/ Slovenia

In the last six months I have been reseaching general problematics  and facts about river Krka, which is one of the “greenest rivers in Slovenia”. Krkas flow is quite slow and short, but  special for its region which is known for many caves and intermittent waters.

Krkas problem is not its “city captivity” but chemical pollution, which destroied rivers rich underwaters life; many sorts of fishes, shells and autochtonous species of crabs. Krka has shaped and gae life to many local smiths, millers and farms.  Its transparant green colour is long time gone, however, the river kept its stillness and green algaeis, which make rivers character unique.

Krka is passing quite short way from its origin. On its way it passes many villages and towns, at the end it pours out to another big river Sava.

I have mapped many childhood memories, important conversations with today still working millers, kayak-men and fishermen. They all talk about one story;

“It used to be full of life.” It is still our local river, but its true purpose is forgoten.” Its has a special smell and taste, which we will never forget.”

Millers have a special role in the rivers cycle; it gives us wheat, therefore everyday bread, we clean it and give back only brans, therefore a food.”

The project  was inspired exclusively from the point of exploring the river as a water body, which flows “through space and time of human existence”. It leaves traces behind it, which are so-called “traces of nature and man”. Therefore, the importance of coexistence, history and the ethnography of the river, created by water and man.

Stories are a foundation of this type of project. Answers to questions related to millers, kayaking, life in Kostanjevica and Novo Mesto, testify to the changes of the Krka River and the person living along it; child memories of turbulent flights on the river, life in floodplains, ecological circle of mill and river, and the development of the city between the branches of the river.

Sound recordings, anonymous narrators will listen to performers through a walk along the Župančič embankment. The walk  began at the station “Pumpenca” (below the train station of NM) and finish at the Kandijski most  (bridge).

Circiling/ Kroženje

The project refers to the research of the circulation of a matter or a transpiration as a “universal system” that operates independently, at micro-macro levels. Transpiration allows the flow of nutrients from the roots to the higher parts of the plant, and also the evaporation of sea and fresh water is the primary mechanism of the water cycle of the entire planet. The circulation of water, (the source of life to all living beings) is therefore carried out according to a specific system or pattern; fractal pattern of the vein system, which was the initial inspiration of the project.

“Discover the watery vein is, to discover the trail of life.”

Transfer of the product of transpiration, the cutter is collected over time in Pitagro’s cup. With the help of a central siphon, it allows the jar to be filled only to a certain extent, so the entire contents of the beaker empties through the hole at the bottom of the cup. The natural cycle of transpiration, evaporation and condensation shows the aquarium from which both condensed water and the primary source of water flow in a given cycle: within 12 hours, the primary source of water is rounded up to geo-batteries, and the Phytagora glass carefully collects drops of evaporation until it fill the glass or inner siphon and also round to microorganisms outside the aquarium.

The second part of the circulation is energy, or the digestion of nutrients, which is an equivalent process. Research dr. Lovley focuses on the physiology and ecology of anaerobic microorganisms. They are capable of converting waste into methane and electricity. Protein nanotubes or “Nano-wires” microorganisms are a sustainable source of electronic materials, and more, they connect us with the primary source of electrical current because these bacteria existed in the early seas of the young Earth. The “Geobacterium and Schewanelle” nanoparticles consist of a pilinic monomer, which is several times shorter than the pilinous monomers found in most microorganisms. Symmetry, which connects man, plants and animals with mud bacteria, is a “nano commune”. Namely, under specific conditions, microorganisms connect each other through nanowires, thus transferring ions to one another. Such generation of electricity or energy, points to “nano-communes”, and the participation of micro-organisms, which must cooperate and inform each other, just as all other living beings do. Thus, the project “Circulation” covers three faces of the universal circulation of matter. Geo-batteries generate electricity or energy in their community, which is a minimum of 3V or more. This value is sufficient for the operation of the ice-light, which is an indirect source of light to the plant in hydroponics. Its product of transpiration circulates to bacteria that need water for their work.

The autonomy of natural cycles is definitely a phenomenon that does not require the presence of a human being. It only needs a balanced stay, for the circulation of vital resources on Earth; water and energy.

Geobacter and Shewanella oneidensis: biofuell, nanowires and nanocommunities

In 2015, we learned that electron-eating and electron-excreting microbes can actually team up and pass electrons between each other, wiring themselves into a common electrical grid.

Dr. Lovley’s research is focused on the physiology and ecology of novel anaerobic microorganisms.  He mostly focused to reserach Geobacter – an anaerobic baceria which exists 3.5 billion years ago and produces electricity. Beside Shewanella Oneidensis it is the most common mudd bacteria which breaths methan and by making a community with its nanowires, hands ions to its neighbour. In 1987 Derek Lovley and his lab at the University of Massachusetts stumbled across the first of these bacteria on the banks of the Potomac River near Washington DC.

Yuri Gorby is an associate Professor Civil and Environmental Engineer who focused to research Scewanella Oneidnsis.

  • “Earth appears to be hard-wired” says Gorby, “although we have yet to conclusively identify the electrically conductive components of Shewanella nanowires.„

Recently I was able to finally turn up a simple led light and hear the sound of a Bio-electrcity.

New ideas are to explore Geobacter and Schewenella as a community group which needs to connect and work as a commune to produce electrcity.

It excites me when thinking about this nano beins connecting together into one group, producing electrcity, for which human needed centuries to understand it. Evenmore, this pre-historic nano bacetrias do cooporate and communicate. If I will be able to see it under a microscope, than a new project can get its red threaed.

Veins: up-dating a transpiration cycle

Transpiration of human and nature.

Transpiration cycle has started one week ago.

It will become an eco system of human blood, nails and hair (in liquids of NaOh and hydrogen peroxide) and natural ingridents: mudd and plants.

Thhrough out 3 weeks of time I am checking the temperature and humidity in the jar (by Arduino and thermo sensor). There is approximately 24c in the jar and between 60-40% of humidty. The exact numbers are hard to be determind, because of everyday variations.

The water cress and the climber  weed are nicely growing within mentioned conditions. (picture missing).

At the same time, I have menaged to create 3V of an electricity from the mudd (Ljubljanas swamp place “Barje”). Therefore the final idea is to create a web “of veins” which will connect 12 jars of mudd with a jar containing human ingridients.

At the end, I would like to create a workshops for children and adults to learn about the eco-electricity and mulitply my product with their own personal ingrdients. Within this workshops I will be able to create a space of  an eco-electrical veins including indivdual eco-systems of man and nature.

VEINS: idea #2

“To find the vain is as finiding a life.”

At Zavod Kersnikova in Ljubljana,  I am developing a Bio-technical-Art project, where I am researching the field of  “Veins” and its the most important function :

circyling of  life important liquids/ micro parts in the fast flow.

While preparing the prototip of a vacuumed jar with a young plant, I started to decompose human ingridients. I hope make a useful liquid which will be added to the plant as “a food” or “waste bacetria”.

image #1 and 2: 4 different tests of human tissue in the chemicals, image#, image#3 human blood and plasma in NaOh, image #4: Human blood, plasma, hair and nails in hydrogen peroxid.

Presented idea is the second option so far. Since February I am working on tests where we (students of microbiology) are trying to find the way of combining human tissue (Human blood and plasma, nails, hair, skin etc.) with plants tissue.

“Idea #2” is to create a selfsufficient biosystem where plants waste bacetrias and human waste tissue could produce an “eco-electricity”. *** Nevertheless, this idea is not only about making electricity and “new” bio-system, it is also about connecting two seperated systems by the energy of eachother.

It is about presenting a circyling of an energy and life important liquids: blood and water by the universal pattern of veins, which is connecting is all: bodies and the planet itself.

We are all connected by the same tisse, the tissue of veins.

*** The idea about making an electricity out of waste plants bacteria is comming from Nederlands:, shoots, and leaves – Electricity from living plants – science

test #4: Carnivour Sarracenia – Cobra Lily : Human blood

Carnivour Sarracenia- Cobra Lily : Human blood

(Research project about “Veins”, at Zavod Kersnikova, Ljubljana, SLO)

After a month of a break from experimenting with plants and human blood, it will come a time for a new test. This time, I will try to feed Carnivour plants (insect eating plants) with human blood.

My question or goal is still the same:

How could a plant “digest” human blood as it digests water?

So far I have been trying to inject diluted human blood (with antigloucant) to green stemed plants (Basilica and Andian Apple plant). I have also tried to mix human blood with water and antigloukant and  plasma. All 3 tests has been a faliure, due to the phisiology of plants xylem (the size of it is too small to accept human cells).

This time, I will try to feed carnivour plants with human blood (test:”4a”) and with insects dipped into human blood.

p.s.: After 2 weeks of observing this plants, they have digested 3 big flies…crazy plants!!!!

Walking performans ali zvočni sprehod na Mariborskem otoku

Mapiranje spominov A.PODREKA plakat

Vse to sem posnela in zmontirala v skoraj enourni, zvočni posnetek, katerega bodo obiskovalci performansa poslušali skozi hojo po Mariborskem otoku. Spremljali jih bodo plesalci » Contact Improvisation plesa«, Ljudskega petja, ter kajakški podvig na reki Dravi.

Performans je samo ena izmed mnogih prireditev, ki jih organizira FESTIVAL DRAVA 2017.
