In this photo gallery you can take a look of some photographs which were taken at the location of Vianen, Nieuwegein Zuid, Utrecht in previous months.
It was a location of a river bed, where new chanel for river Lek has been built. This location has fascinated me with its diversity and changing areas every week. The area has been splited on two parts : sandy and soil one. The location itself is an original river flow since middle ages, therefore builders excavated an old wooden port, much of ceramics etc. It was beautiful to observe, explore all this layers of earth, sand, clay and at the end water traces in combination with all materialistic left overs of human civilization.
So many stories to be told, but yet they keep silent, laying in the layers of earth.
Vianen has been my inspirational place. Unfortunately, the channel was finished recently, therefore also my exploration of it has ended.
Nevertheless, here are some photographs of this particular, diverse space of an old and new river bed.
